It started in 1964, when our grandfather opened a small jewellery shop in the heart of the city. It was a different era. Every piece was chosen by hand. Every stone was held up to the light before it was ever shown to a customer.

Every bracelet, every ring, every necklace left our shop with the quiet certainty that it was made to last not just for the woman who bought it, but for the daughter she would one day pass it to.

For more than sixty years, Torontique has been present for the moments that matter. The engagement. The anniversary. The birthday that felt like a turning point. The ordinary Tuesday when someone decided, for no reason she could name, that she deserved something beautiful.

We saw couples celebrate their 25th, their 40th, their 50th year together. We saw mothers fasten a necklace around their daughter's neck for the first time. We saw how love, when you give it a shape and a weight, becomes something you can hold in your hands.

Now the story turns a new page and we want to share that with you.

Our grandfather passed the shop to his son. And now, in 2026, it is time for another passing. Our son James and his wife Sofia are officially taking over Torontique. The same name above the door. The same values behind the counter. The same belief that has guided every decision since 1964 that a piece of jewellery is not a purchase. It is a beginning. The beginning of a story that gets handed down, from mother to daughter, from one life to the next.

This is a moment to celebrate. But also a moment to be honest.

Every new generation brings new energy, new ideas, a new vision for what comes next. James and Sofia are ready to make Torontique their own and that means making space. A part of our existing collection pieces chosen by hand, carried with care, held in our shop through three generations of knowing what matters is now available for the first time at significantly reduced prices.
